Über Mario Cake

We made this cake for the brother of the girl who had a princess party early this year. Being a big fan of Nint**** games, I was extremely excited about making this cake. It was a little more challenging than the other cakes we have done. This is because we couldn't just design the cake in any way, but we had to refer to the elements in the video game and replicate them. Hard work paid off at the end because we absolutely love the way the cake turned out and it was hard to let it go :)

Two Brothers' Birthday Cakes

Our friend G had a huge birthday bash for her two boys recently. We stuck to a simple design and color combination, which we believe made the cake look whimsical, but in a clean and modern way. (*photo courtesy of Michelle Sterling*)

Outdoor Train Party

Travel Town was the perfect place for this little boy C, who LOVES trains, to have his second birthday party. We provided some of the food that was fit for an outdoor party, such as chicken kabobs, which were a BIG hit. We also made the cake and cupcakes that you see in these pictures. This train cake was different in that we added a little boy resembling the birthday boy sitting on top of the cake, in the middle of the train tracks. We also brought some milk and some Hot Chocolate on a Stick, to help the guests keep warm.

Happy Valentine's Day!

These are "Hot Chocolate on a Stick"s. I can not take credit for these as my friend first brought these to a cookie exchange party and then gave them out as Valentine's Day gifts. I absolutely love them and had to "borrow" the idea. Thanks M for finiding it on giverslog.com and sharing them with me!

(Pink) Princess Party

Earlier this year, we helped a little girl celebrate her birthday with about fifty of her family and friends. As you can see from the pictures, she likes princesses and the color pink :) . We helped the family by providing them with Hawaiian Plate style food, along with some fruit kabobs, a castle cake big enough to feed fifty plus guests, some of the decorations (flower pompoms, birthday banner and balloons) and booking a princess.

Hello Kitty Party

We will post more pictures and details about this event soon. For now, here is a picture of the birthday banner and a flower pompom from the party that all followed the red and white color scheme of H Kitty. The other picture shows strawberry H Kitty cupcakes. Like the T Train birthday cake, these were made with marshmallow fondant, which the kids loved.

T Train Birthday Cake

There's a little boy who just adores T train that he actually carries around and studies catalogues with this T train. Naturally, when he saw this cake, he was "in awe" as his parents described. We were very pleased with the result as well, especially because the birthday boy was so happy with it. To top it all off, it was made with marshmallow fondant, which unlike your regular fondant actually tastes good! Happy Birthday C!

Very Pink Chocolate Cupcakes

A truly sweet little girl wanted some chocolate cupcakes with REALLY pink frosting. Here are the results. They were made extra special with sprinkles of pink sugar glitters as well as sweet little roses on top... just like the birthday girl.

A Princess Party

Princess friends received a candy wand along with a formal invitation.
Children filled up the colorful take-out boxes full of candies (note the pretty little lollipops sticking out of each boxes).
Princesses bouncing around! They also played a relay game where they raced with a book on their heads.
Princess friends took pictures like this (J's dog is modeling here) after decorating their tiaras and getting made-up.
On the menu: mini pizza, PB&J and turkey&guacamole sandwiches in different shapes, fried ravioli, punch; and fruit kabobs (a picture of us making them).
Castle cake!

chef themed birthday party

This is an example of a customized birthday party we offer at Choix.
The birthday girl had been showing interest in cooking and had been having a blast in the kitchen, so... chef themed birthday party was the perfect solution! The children decorated their aprons and hats, posed for the camera with their chef's outfit, made their own pizza and then ate the pizza, played games, decorated their own cupcakes and filled up their favor boxes with candies! What more can a kid ask for?
Kids having a blast posing for the camera in their very own chef outfits!

Each child decorated their own apron and chef's hat, and...
they made their own pizza!

Tattoos are always fun!

They loved decorating their own cupcakes with a frosting of their choice (strawberry, vanilla, chocolate) as well as some sprinkles!
Our cupcakes with our very delicious and very unique frosting for the chaperones.

mmm... cookies

These "M" cookies were requested by a client for her son's first birthday party favor. We hope Micah's family and guests found them to be as cute and sweet (okay, maybe not that sweet) as Micah is!

We put these three types of cookies in each package as our client indicated in this picture.

Here they are, all 75(x3)+ of them!
